Ouzoud Waterfalls from Marrakech
Leave Marrakech for the red-earth countryside and olive groves of the Middle Atlas foothills before reaching Ouzoud, Morocco’s celebrated three-tiered cascades. Walk between viewpoints, descend toward the river at your own pace, and pause for lunch at a local restaurant with time for an optional boat ride when operating. The return drive is usually in the late afternoon or early evening.
The route begins with pickup in Marrakech and a scenic drive through changing agricultural landscapes, villages and olive country. Near Ouzoud, your driver-guide helps you choose between the upper viewpoints and the walking path down toward the falls, where mist, river pools and Barbary macaques create a very different atmosphere from the city. Lunch is flexible and paid locally unless arranged in advance. Wear shoes with good grip: the paths include steps, stone and uneven ground.
