Imlil & High Atlas Villages
Travel south through the foothills to Imlil, a mountain village beneath the Toubkal massif. Pass olive terraces and Amazigh settlements, meet a local mountain guide if requested, and choose a short walk through the valley rather than a demanding summit route. A terrace lunch and time in the village complete a day focused on mountain life and changing altitude.
The road through Asni and the foothills reveals a greener, more textured Morocco than the Marrakech plain. Imlil walks involve slopes, stones and altitude, but the route can be adjusted for fitness and weather. This is not a Toubkal ascent; it is a day of valley scenery, village paths and local hospitality. Bring layers because the mountain air can feel cooler than Marrakech.
